How about redirecting his attention to something equally or more interesting. For example, if he likes the toy car, how about suggesting riding in a toy car in the amusement center?
Give Him Comfort
When he’s threatened, frustrated or jealous, he deals with his feelings by being unruly. Parenting includes helping him deal with his feelings, make sure to give him comfort. If it’s his first time to attend a preschool, go with him for the first couple of days. Or, if the new baby arrives, your kid may feel jealous. Assure him of your love and his new role as a brother. You can also ask him to help you out in taking care of the baby, like getting baby’s stuff or singing songs to baby.
Give Your Child Ample Attention
Haven’t you notice that when your child comes to you and ask you to play with him and you replied a strong ‘No! I’m busy’ he then goes out and bully other members of the family — or tear down his toys. It is because he wants a couple of your minutes to spend with him. He misbehaves to call your attention. Setting a time for him each day makes a difference.
Praise Him When He Does Things Right
Praise your child when he does something right. Say ‘Thank you’ if he did you a favor. It should be as easy as yelling ‘No’ when he is being stubborn. You don’t need to give him chocolates or candies or any of his favorite food as reward. Sometimes, a proud kiss and honest praise are enough.
